Possibly The Best Time Management Tip Ever

Billionaires have many times more zeroes in their bank accounts than you and I, however they don't have any more hours in the day. Obviously, they've found a way to use their time a lot more productively than the rest of us.

That's about to change.

Throw away your Filofax...no need to keep daily time logs... Here's the method for time management used by Billionaires and is the best method I've ever heard for squeezing maximum productivity out of your day. It comes from my brilliant friend Chet Holmes, author of the phenomenal best selling book "The Ultimate Sales Machine." Here's what you do:

Step 1: Write Your Master To-Do List. Simple enough, pull out a paper and write down all of the things that you need to work on.

Step 2: Pick Your Top 6 For Today. There's no way you can work on everything on your master list. So lose that thought. Instead, pick the 6 most important items you need to get done this day.

Step 3:Plan How Much Time You'll Allocate to Each Task. Don't think of when you'll do each item yet, first you need to determine REALISTICALLY the amount of time you can dedicate to each item. This is an important step to make sure each of the 6 items can be accomplished within your day. If one item is too big to accomplish in one day, break it down into how much time you will work on it during this specific day. Make sure that all the time added together doesn't come to more than 6.5 hours total, I'll explain why in a sec.

Step 4: Plan Your Day. Start by including two time periods for miscellaneous meetings and emails. You know your day is going to get interrupted so this "flex" time will allow you to plan for the unplannable. This will bring you close to 8 hours for the day. Next plan when you will work on each of your 6 items. Put your highest payoff items first. Now commit to following your schedule. It takes a lot for the President of a major corporation to break his schedule...you be the same way. Make your schedule and then STICK TO IT.

Step 5: Plan Tomorrow Today. Before you leave the office for the day, go through this process for tomorrow. Put it all on one sheet of paper and leave it on your desk so it's the first thing you see when you get in in the morning. You'll hit the ground running with momentum, I promise.

Stop what you're doing...and try this right now. Nothing else you're doing this moment will have a bigger impact on your long term success.
